For more than 1,000 years, traditional craftsmen have been making Ikat Adras (also known as Adras or Atlas) in Central Asia. The Adras weaves into a wonderful fabric at the IKAT loom. The unique weaving technique that each warp thread is tied and dyed individually before weaving, depending on the pattern, makes the process time-consuming.
Inspired by the shapes of flowers, leaves, and fruits, the artists create and weave beautiful patterns, each different and unique. Due to the typical bonding technique, the pattern always produces a whitish stripe after approx. 2.5m, after which the pattern is repeated, but mirrored. Due to the narrow looms, the fabrics also have a narrow width.
Please note that, as with any other craft, every single piece is unique and does not look exactly like the one in the photo. There may be small discrepancies in the pattern or in the lines that come from the manufacturing process, and that will make your cushion unique.
